Please take a few minutes to share some days in the life of our ponies.

You too can give your child the opportunity to be in a horse show. Here, Grace is handling Billy in a "showmanship" class. Little training is necessary, and all the excitement of showing and possibly a ribbon is the reward.

Grace and Billy, enjoying the spoils of victory!
I am devoted to the preservation of the art and sport of carriage driving and am a member of the Piedmont Driving Club. If you can't manage
hosting a carriage party, please consider supporting Billy and Jesse as spectators. Know a grown-up girl who would love to be involved in a horse show? I can take passengers for a fee and even teach you to drive.
Here we are again at the Howard County Fair. The fairgrounds is right down the road from us so we are a fixture on Crossbred Pony Day.

In the beginning of the season, the ponies still need regular driving to get their legs and lungs in shape. Foster's Country Store is their destination of choice. They know that Creamsicles await them - Jesse is especially adept at scraping every last bit off his popsicle stick.
We aren't always puttin' on the Ritz. Sometimes friends pile in and the day is made

Club outings can be more formal...this particular drive on the historic gravel roads of Virginia was accompanied by a color brochure describing the various points of interest and culminated in a wonderful high tea. I pulled the kids out of school for the day and called it an educational field trip, which thanks to that brochure, it certainly was!

Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Carriage Driving Grand Prix
This year Billy and Jesse once again put on a spectacular show. We drove conservatively (for us) due to my illness so we were out of first place this year by 1.43 seconds.
